Paintings

My practice is grounded in an engagement with the shifting social and physical landscapes of South London. I work to integrate elements of modernism, and art history, with observations of contemporary life, developing a distinctive visual language.

 I am interested in moving beyond superficial visual concepts and decorative aesthetics, seeking instead a more nuanced approach to image-making. My work resists fixed narratives and overt ideological positioning, favouring subtlety, ambiguity, and openness—creating space for the viewer to reflect, engage, and construct value and meaning.

 I am currently preoccupied with imagery that evokes abandonment, neglect, and quiet brutality, spaces and objects marked by time, erosion, and absence. These forms function as metaphors for psychological states and reflect a particular sensitivity to the fragility and volatility of the world around us. Through this, I aim to draw attention to marginalised perspectives and overlooked realities.

 Ultimately, my work invites a heightened awareness of lived experience-its starkness, it’s strange beauty, and ultimately, the enduring perplexity of existence.
